Living proof that old dogs can learn new tricks. As an Administrative Assistant/Mom/Grandma, sharing comedy in the life/workplace ranks next to keeping a supply of chocolate on hand at all times. After all, laughter is the best medicine. Or is it chocolate? Or maybe an ice cold beer? At this point, I'm thinking sleep....

Words to ponder and live by....

"An optimist is one who makes the best of it when he or she gets the worst of it." ---Laurence Peter

And when you make the best of the worst of it, interesting things will begin to happen. First of all, you’ll be inspired to look around and see how good you really have it in spite of the current circumstance. That is called gratitude, and when you can be grateful even during the bad times, good things are going to be coming your way. The lessons of life are learned more readily when approached with a good attitude---and, learning the lessons of life is what life is all about. It is so easy to fall
into the, "poor me" syndrome, but it never pays off. So the next
time you hit the wall, look around for the ladder, because it is there---just waiting for you. And, when you have climbed the
ladder, new and exciting opportunities will be waiting for you.
Guaranteed!!!

"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life, that no person can sincerely try to help another without helping themselves."
---Ralph Waldo Emerson

Thank you Mr. Emerson---truer words were never spoken.
If we really believed and acted upon this statement, our lives would take on a whole new meaning. Reaching down and lifting others up requires a commitment that our busy lives sometimes find no time for. But if we are that busy, we are missing the boat. It doesn’t have to be someone in deep trouble that needs "saving." It can be someone that merely needs a smile of encouragement to get them back on their path. So, make a commitment to yourself that you will always stay aware of the needs of others. Do so and you will soon find your own needs being met. The Universe loves people who love people. Be one of them.

I dialed a number and got the following recording: "I am not available right now, but thank you for caring enough to call. I am making some changes in my life. Please leave a message after the Beep. If I do not return your call, You are one of the changes."

The quote of the month is by Jay Leno:
"With hurricanes, tornado's, fires out of control, mudslides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, "Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"
